Marrakech-Ménara passes 5.6 million passengers in the first half of the year

11 August 2026

Marrakech airport handled 5.64 million passengers between January and June 2026, making it the kingdom's second-busiest hub behind Casablanca.

The first-half 2026 figures confirm what you can feel in the medina: Marrakech-Ménara handled 5.64 million passengers between January and June, making it Morocco's second-busiest airport behind Casablanca Mohammed V. Nationwide, the kingdom's airports passed 18.8 million passengers over the period.

The growth comes above all from airline capacity. Marrakech now exceeds 600 weekly arrivals, driven by the easyJet base, Ryanair's expansion and Air France strengthening its Paris-Marrakech route, one of the most strategic between the two countries.

What that means in practice for a trip: more frequencies, so more flexibility on dates and fares outside school holidays — but also more pressure on the best addresses. In high season, tables at the most sought-after rooftops and the riads with real character are booked several weeks ahead.
