Hammams in Marrakech: The 2026 Price Guide, from Local Baths to Palace Spas

What does a hammam in Marrakech really cost? From the 10–30 MAD neighbourhood bath to palace rituals above 2,000 MAD: verified prices for 12 spas, plus how to choose.

How much does a hammam cost in Marrakech in 2026? Three price tiers: the neighbourhood public hammam (10–30 MAD, fully local experience), the medina hammam houses like Les Bains de Marrakech or Les Bains du Lotus (treatments from 250–650 MAD), and the palace spas — La Mamounia, Royal Mansour, Mandarin Oriental — where rituals start between 1,200 and 2,200 MAD. Here are verified prices for our 12 addresses, updated July 2026.

A hammam is not a “Moroccan spa” — it is a ritual. Steam bath, eucalyptus black soap, a scrub with the kessa glove, a rinse — then, depending on the house, a ghassoul clay wrap and an argan-oil massage. Allow 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the package.

Tier one: the neighbourhood public hammam. Entry runs 10–30 MAD, plus a few dirhams for the scrub. Men and women have separate hours or rooms; bring your own black soap, kessa glove and towel (all available in the souk for under 50 MAD). It is loud, authentic and unforgettable — but it is not luxury.

Tier two: the hammam houses. Baan Thaï Institut (massages from about 250 MAD), Zen The Spa in the Palmeraie (from 400 MAD, 5,000 m²), Yemaya Spa (from 490 MAD, 1,200 m² blending Morocco and Thailand), Les Bains de Marrakech (from 650 MAD, renovated in 2021) and Les Bains du Lotus, an Art Deco jewel in the medina. This is the city's best value: full ritual plus massage for 600–1,000 MAD.

Tier three: the palace spas. Spa Chenot (from about 700 MAD, the Chenot method), Fairmont Spa (3,500 m², from 1,000 MAD), the Spa at La Mamounia (from 1,200 MAD), the Royal Mansour Spa (2,500 m², from 1,400 MAD) and the Mandarin Oriental Spa (1,800 m² of Andalusian-inspired architecture, from 2,200 MAD). Go for the architecture as much as the treatments — most welcome non-guests with a reservation.

Which one for whom? Couples: Les Bains de Marrakech and Yemaya offer rituals for two. Men: every spa in this guide is mixed with a booking, and public hammams have dedicated hours. On a budget: public hammam plus a Baan Thaï massage = the full experience under 300 MAD. Big occasion: Royal Mansour or Mandarin Oriental, no hesitation.

Practical tips: book 24–48 hours ahead (late-afternoon slots go first), hydrate before and after, and avoid the hammam right after a meal. Customary tip: 20–50 MAD for your praticienne at a hammam house, more at a palace.
