The most beautiful rooftops in Marrakech in 2026? La Pergola for sunset jazz in the medina (from 125 MAD), KABANA for the head-on view of the illuminated Koutoubia, and the Zest Rooftop Bar at the Four Seasons for the most spectacular panorama in Hivernage. Here are our 12 tested terraces, ranked by budget and by view — updated July 2026.
The Marrakech ritual never changes: climb onto a roof an hour before sunset — around 6:15pm in winter, 7:45pm in summer — order a mint tea or a cocktail, and watch the Koutoubia catch fire while the Atlas turns pink. The only question is: which roof, for which budget?
Small budgets, big views: Atay Cafe (from 100 MAD, the most photogenic tea-house roof in the medina), La Pergola (from 125 MAD, our favourite — live jazz, Moroccan-Mediterranean kitchen, 4.9 Google rating) and L'MIDA (from 260 MAD, modern Moroccan fusion over two levels). At these prices there is no reason not to make sunset a daily habit.
The signature-view roofs: KABANA faces the Koutoubia head-on — the photo you saw on Instagram was taken here. La Terrasse des Epices looks out over the souks to the Atlas. Le Slimana (4.9) pairs a gastronomic riad with a panoramic roof. Dardar and Café Arabe complete the medina circuit, from aperitif to dinner.
On the palace side: the Zest Rooftop Bar at the Four Seasons (rated 5.0) delivers a 360° over Hivernage; The Odette, on top of La Sultana, overlooks the Kasbah with its mezzé plates (from 500 MAD); the Nobu's Rooftop Garden adds a pool and cocktails to the skyline. Otto plays gastronomic Italian-Moroccan in a minimalist setting.
Real budgets, verified across our listings: tea or coffee on a roof runs 40–100 MAD, cocktails 120–250 MAD depending on the venue, a full dinner 260–500+ MAD per person. Alcohol is only served at licensed venues — true of most addresses in this guide, except the medina tea houses.
Our advice: book the terrace-edge tables by WhatsApp (they go first), arrive 45 minutes before sunset, and bring a layer from October to April — roofs cool down fast after dark. On Fridays and Saturdays, without a booking you will be watching from street level.
